  • How It Works

    1

    Color Match Requests

Submitting a color match request to Prism Pigments is straightforward and designed to ensure precise results for your project needs. Whether you're a new or returning

customer, here's how you can get started:

    2

    Submit Samples

You can submit various types of samples for our Color Matching Laboratory for matching purposes. Samples may include:

    • Raw pigments
    • Chunks of mortar or brick
    • Mortar channel
    • Color cards
    • Paint samples or swatches
    3

    Provide Project Details

Along with your sample, please include the job or project name to help us track and prioritize your request.

    4

    Raw Materials

If you are a new customer or have recently changed your raw materials, it's essential to send us a sample of your raw materials. This ensures that we match the color accurately

    in your specific material formulation.

Cement or portland color, as well as sand color, can affect the color matching process. Sending us your raw materials helps us account for these variations and achieve the desired color match effectively.

    5

    Mix Design

A concrete or masonry mix design specifics the proportions of various ingredients (cement or portland, aggregates, water, sand, and admixtures) to achieve desired properties in the concrete or masonry.

Mix design names may include: PLN (Portland/Lime Type N), PLS (Portland/Lime Type S), Masonry Cement S, Masonry Cement N, or others.

    6

    Color Matching Process

Once we receive the a) sample or color to be matched, b) raw materials for matching, c) the mix design formulation, our color matching laboratory can proceed with the match. Typically, the color matching takes between a few days to two weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the request and current workload.
